The beady eyed amongst you might have noticed that Henry is a tad obsessed with the film Clueless. It’s that mid-90s vibe that we reference season after season and, always recreated with a twist, the look never gets old.
Way back in our first collection – Autumn/Winter 2008 – we showed a bright purple tartan skirt set modelled by Agyness Deyn. It was made up of a pleated mini-kilt and double breasted blazer. This is definitely an ensemble Cher would have been proud to covet and it’s become almost as iconic as her yellow version.
Then in Spring/Summer 2011, Henry used that same inspiration for the show jewellery. We created brightly coloured earrings and bracelets with marabou (faux) fur and sparkling gems.
Then came the grey marabou pieces from Autumn/Winter 2013. We took classic, grey sweat material and created sweat pants, a sweat skirt, a long cardigan and a sweatshirt. These were embellished all over with matching marabou pom poms.
Right up to next season, we’ll be channelling that 90s style. Our Pre Fall 2014 navy and blue tweed skirt suit is a modern take on the classic twin set. To create an even fresher look, make sure to mix and match your pieces.
Our obsession for Clueless has piqued once again by Iggy Azalea’s new video. The HOH sunglasses campaign model released her latest song, Fancy, this week with full-on homage music video to the film.
So now we know Henry’s favourite 90s film, what’s yours?
