We’re sure that you’ve got the message by now that Team HOH are running the Nike We Own The Night 10k next weekend (AH!).
In order to be race ready, we’ve been going to the run club at Box Park twice a week (Mon and Thurs at 6pm) to build up our stamina and increase speed. The run club has been really great, it gets everyone together and has pushed all of us far further than we could push ourselves.
Another thing we’ve been trying is the Nike+ app. There are a lot of similar apps on the market but this is one of the best we’ve found.
It’s basically an aid to running – it sets your weight, height, level and even shoe type and tracks your location throughout your whole run meaning that you get a really accurate speed and distance result. What’s also great is that whenever you have to pause running – ie at a traffic light junction – the app also pauses, therefore you never add unnecessary seconds and minutes to your end time.
You can also sync your music playlists to your workout, save ‘Powersongs’ for when you need an extra boost and interact with other Nike+ ‘Friends’ to compare results.
If you’re in the market for a running app – whether you’re a beginner or seasoned pro – this is definitely a good option and the fact it costs absolutely nothing means there’s no excuse not to give it a go.
