You all know how much we’re fans of hairdresser and salon owner Adam Reed. Almost all of us in the studio get our hair cut at Percy & Reed’s East salon – a joint venture between Adam and Paul Percival – and Adam is our number one choice for all House of Holland shows, shoots and campaigns.

There are a few questions we’ve been dying to ask him so we met up to have a quick chat about summer hair, his favourite celebrity clients and what he likes to do in his spare time.

One of our favourite Adam x HOH hair looks is from the first show with the slogan tees – what’s yours?

Without a doubt it was my favourite show too. Everyone was so excited and we just did what we thought worked with the collection. I remember spray-painting hundreds of hair grips neon and then everyone was knicking them after the show. I also really loved the last show and The Monkey Wind, I loved the texture and am partial to an exposed ear! I loved Pastel Punks too!

You’re famous in the HOH office for your 60 second braid. Any other quick styles that you love?

I love a really bouncy ponytail, quite high and textured. I love a really high, textured top knot where it is almost on the forehead and of course I love an exposed ear and tight kirby grip.

What would you say has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

It would have to be opening Percy & Reed East, I love it there. Setting up our brand was a great experience, but Paul and I were a lot more experienced when we opened East, it is a great space that I love working in. We also have a great team, which are hard to get so seeing the team working is always a highlight!

Have you got any exciting upcoming projects you can tell us about?

I have just been appointed as Global Brand Ambassador for GHD which is so exciting. I really respect GHD as a brand and am excited to be a big part of the team. Lots of exciting news to come…

Out of all your clients, whose hair has been the most fun to work with and why?

Henry Holland of course! And Diane Kruger is always up for something different.

As festival season has begun, we are intrigued to know what products we can use to maintain great hair whilst living the tent and mosh-pit lifestyle?

Our brand new Invisible Dry Shampoo, it leaves your hair feeling incredible and is totally invisible. Also a Blax Snag Free Hair Band to tie your hair if it is all too much.

We’re going on holiday and won’t have access to a hair dryer, how can we still have good hair days?

Go for a wet look, the top will then look great and you can leave the back with any texture at all, take your Hint from Slick To Dry that we created a couple of seasons ago using Oribe Rock Hard Gel and Percy & Reed Finishing Polish mixed together combed through the top of the hair and leave to dry.

Speaking of travel, where’s your favourite place that you’ve travelled to and why?

I love Tokyo, I have been a couple of times and fall more and more in love with it. I love the energy, the shops, the parks, the food, the people – I love absolutely everything about it!

What would you recommend to keep hair looking flawless at the beach? Water, sand, sun, humidity – how can we keep it looking better than a hot mess?

A good treatment. I love Kerastase Masque Intense or Percy & Reed TLC Mask, it is great to maintain moisture in the hair, can be worn on the beach or left in the hair for a simple style in the evening, a win win!

Finally, where would we find Adam Reed on his day off work?

Walking my dogs and exploring London, I love london and love finding new places to explore.
